Information aimed at helping visiting media to Deepdale and providing information to facilitate all media requests.
PNE Media is the Club's in-house press and new media organisation, responsible for dealing with all incoming press requests, updating the news content of the official PNE website and PNE Player (formerly Whites World), and producing the matchday programme to name just a few of the operations performed by the department on a daily basis.
The PNE Media department consists of:
- Ben Rhodes (Head of Communications/General Manager/Club Secretary)
- Jonathon Swift (Media Executive)
With matchday/part-time support from:
- Jonathan Breeze (PNE Player commentator)
- Anthony Wareing (PNE Player co-commentator)
- Stephen Watson (press steward)
- Sam Budd (cameraman)
- Dave Kendall (photographer)
Media Requests
All interview requests or general media enquiries relating to Club affairs are to be directed to the media department, preferably via email to media@pne.com or by calling 0844 856 1964. We will endeavour to deal with every request from accredited media sources as soon as possible.
Please note that Sir Tom Finney has retired from giving interviews.
Press Conferences
The vast majority of interview requests will be facilitated at our regular press conferences, which normally take place the day before a midweek competitive first team game and two days ahead of a competitive first team weekend game. As a general rule of thumb, press conferences ahead of a weekend game will take place on Thursday afternoons. For midweek fixtures, most press conferences will take place during the afternoon on the day before the game. The Club will occasionally call press conferences in the event of a major signing or announcement.
All press conferences are provisionally scheduled to take place in the press room at Deepdale unless otherwise stated in our regular e-mail press releases (directions are provided within our press releases). Any accredited organisations requiring further information in this regard are asked to contact the Club via the numbers listed above. Please read press releases carefully for details of alterations to press conference venues as we cannot accept re-arranged press conferences to accommodate any organisations who fail to turn up at the wrong venue.
Match Accreditation
In order for media organisations to attend first team fixtures at Deepdale to provide broadcast or written coverage, Football League media accreditation is required. To obtain permission to report on all Football League fixtures, please contact Derek Johnston at Football DataCo, via e-mail at djohnston@premierleague.com / accreditations@football-dataco.com or by calling 0207 864 9131. Please note that the Football League reserves the right to refuse any applications which are considered unsuitable or outwith the best interests of the competition.
Accredited organisations wishing to attend PNE home fixtures are asked to make their applications through DataCo's I-PBS online booking system http://www.football-dataco.com.
Please note that the closing date for accreditation applications is 5pm on Thursdays for all weekend fixtures, or 5pm on the preceding day for a midweek fixture. Though we can normally accommodate late requests (subject to availability), the deadlines have been set to ensure the smoothest possible service on the day of the game. We respectfully ask that all submissions for accreditation are made via the I-PBS system.
Please avoid ringing to confirm the status of your application prior to this point. We will not supply confirmation of acceptance for any emailed faxed requests, so please send your application via I-PBS if you require confirmation.
Live full/part match commentaries can only be carried out where an agreement exists between the Club, the Football League and the third party broadcaster. Any organisations with such an agreement are requested to submit a purchase order number with their accreditation request in order to allow us to process your application. We cannot guarantee access to any organisation not adhering to this request.
Matchday Parking
All media parking passes provide access to one of our available car parks on matchdays (this is normally our Club shop car park, though this may change from game-to-game). Please note that parking is only available on a first-come, first-served basis to any media organisations applying in advance of the matchday via the normal channels listed above. Information regarding the parking space you have been allocated will be provided alongside confirmation of your request. The PNE media department cannot be held responsible for any vehicles parked on our property, nor are we able to assist in the release of cars parked without prior arrangement in a Club car park that subsequently become locked in after our scheduled closing time.
Match Photography
The vast majority of images used in our matchday programme and via the pages of our Club website are provided by our official photography partner, Dave Kendall Photography. For any queries relating to imagery, please contact our media department.
Other images featured on our site are courtesy of PNE, Action Images, Jo Humphreys, Josh Vosper, Andy Stunell and Anthony Farran. Others are accredited where necessary.
Match Filming
All Preston North End home games and reserve team fixtures (home and away) are filmed by our official filming partner, Sam Budd Media. For queries relating to Sam Budd Media and Preston North End, please contact the media department.
PNE Player
PNE Player is the Club's official broadcast channel, provided as an online subscription service in conjunction with the Perform Group (formerly PremiumTV), and replacing the previous Whites World format. The Club is responsible for providing the daily video interview content and the matchday audio commentary on all first team home and away games, while the Perform Group supply the post-match highlights packages. For any queries relating to Club-generated content, please contact media@pne.com. For subscription or technical queries, please contact the Perform Group's customer services department via customerservices@performgroup.com. Please do not contact the Club if your query is of a technical nature as such matters are beyond our control in most instances.
Work Experience/Student Requests
Due to the vast number of requests we receive relating to student projects or possible work experience placements, it is unfortunately impossible for us to grant every request we receive. Students will be permitted to attend for player press conferences by invitation only during the 2012/13 season.
Opportunities for individuals wishing to gain work experience within the media department - including the chance to report on non-first team fixtures - are occasionally available. Anyone wishing to be considered for such a placement are asked to email media@pne.com, stating:
- the reason for their application
- the whole weeks in which they are available (preferably in fortnightly periods or longer)
...and including:
- an up to date CV
- examples of relevant work in this area.
Please note that all work placements with PNE Media are unpaid.
