Lindegaard 'We're Ready To Build On Last Season'

30 July 2016

PNE shot stopper Anders Lindegaard believes the Lilywhites' have all the ingredients to build on the success on North End's first season back in the Championship last time out.

Now that pre-season is done and dusted following the 0-0 draw to Bolton this afternoon, Lindegaard spoke to PNEPlayerHD on some intense preparations since returning to the club on a permanent deal.

"The real preparation has been underway for five or six weeks now. We're looking forward to it and being competive again," said Lindegaard.

"We've had a good build-up with things that we've discussed along the way since we went to the training camp in Ireland. We were talking about being more solid and being hard to beat which is how we suceeded last season and I think we've done that."

Lindegaard had little to do during today's pre-season encounter against Bolton and the Great Dane believed that was a testament to the players in front of them.

He added: "As a goalkeeper, you don't want anything to do and if that's the case it means the defenders are doing well.

"There are still things to build on and to make better, but we've prepared for it physically and mentally. We have a broader and bigger squad compared to last season so we're ready to go."
