Ben Pringle On Deepdale Debut

23 July 2016

PNE's Ben Pringle felt he and his team-mates can take credit from their 1-1 draw vs Stoke this afternoon.

In North End's first and only pre-season friendly of the 2016/17 season, on his Deepdale debut Pringle turned provider setting up Daniel Johnson's early strike to give North End the lead.

The Potters drew level in the second-half through Mame Biram Diouf but Pringle felt that the Lilywhites more than matched their opponents this afternoon.

"I really enjoyed it," said the new signing on making his Deepdale debut.

"Obviously with them being a Premier League side there always going to be a threat and test you but I thought we had some good spells as well and kept it well.

"For the goal, We worked it well and got a bit of luck with DJ's shot with it flicking off a defender but from a team's point of view it was good."

Pringle slotted well into a midfield that contained Daniel Johnson and Paul Gallagher and although the midfielder conceded it would take time for him to fully get use to the North End set-up, there was plenty of promise this afternoon for the upcoming season which gets underway in two weeks' time.

He continued: "As midfielders we all like to get on the ball, it's going to take a bit of time to get use to each other with the rotation but the more games that we play in training, we'll know each others games more."
