Winger Daryl Horgan was delighted to put pen to paper on a deal that will see him join PNE from 1st January 2017.
The Irishman can't wait to get started with North End, and feels the club is a perfect fit for him as a player.
Speaking of the move, the 24-year-old said: "I'm delighted to be here, I'm absolutely thrilled to get the deal over the line so now I'm really looking forward to getting into training and hopefully into the team.
"It's a massive club with a great history, it's a good team who like to try and play football which was key for me. I met the manager and I was impressed by everything that he had to say so that all helped massively, it just all seemed to fit and hopefully I can fit in here.
Horgan will bring something different to Simon Grayson's side, and when asked what he feels he can bring to the team, he said: "I'm hardworking and hopefully I will be able to create chances, try different things, and try and give the team something going forward and bring something different, something unexpected every now and then.
"Hopefully it will go well and that's what I would like to think I could bring to the team. I work hard, I try my best and hopefully things come off for me.
Horgan signs alongside Dundalk teammate Andy Boyle, with the pair joining a number of Irish players already in the dressing room at Deepdale, and the wide man feels that can only be beneficial for him.
"It's brilliant and I would have played with them all at once stage or another so it's funny how it's worked out but it's brilliant to have the Irish lads and it will make coming into a new dressing room a bit easier.
"When you first get in, it's always going to be a bit different. I had been at Dundalk for three years and it was a pretty settled squad so it was very easy but I'm looking forward to it.
"It's a new challenge, a new adventure and I just want to get training and playing now.
The Galway-born player was full of praise for the club he leaves behind, after enjoying three successful years with the League of Ireland Premier Division side, Dundalk FC.
"It was a special three years at Dundalk, it's a special club. This year especially was incredible, to reach the heights that we did in Europe and winning three in a row was brilliant. Unfortunately we couldn't get out of the group, we just fell short, but to be up at that level and be competing at that level shows that there are a lot of good players there.
