Gally On A Perfectly Executed Game Plan

19 October 2016

Paul Gallagher felt North End's discipline was key to their victory tonight.

Coming back into the starting XI for the first time in three games, the PNE man had a hand in all three of North End's goals tonight as they defeated high flyers Huddersfield Town, 3-1 under the floodlights at Deepdale.

Tom Clarke, Alex Baptiste and Gallagher himself were on the scoresheet, but the 32-year-old focused on North End's discipline as the real driving force towards their win this evening.

"We knew it was going to be tough as Huddersfield are a good footballing side but we went back to basics - working hard for the team," said Gallagher to PNEPlayerHD after the game.

"We had a feeling that they would want to pass the ball so we got in their faces and made it a tough evening for them.

"We asked questions of them and got the ball in the box and we got our rewards.

"We were disciplined and stayed in our shape throughout the game."

All three goals came from the delivery of Gally tonight, and the North End number 12 admitted to PNEPlayerHD the secret behind his set-pieces this evening.

"I've been practicising them a bit more," told Gallagher.

"I'll always try and put the ball in the box because I know the quality we have inside the penalty area and tonight they've come off."

On whether the goal is his or not, Gally added: "I couldn't really see it, it was quite busy in there; all of the lads just came running towards me so I presumed I'd scored, even if I didn't score I would have got an assist!"
