Lilywhites Complete Ben Pringle Signing

4 July 2016

Preston North End have completed the permanent signing of Ben Pringle for an undisclosed fee from Fulham.

The 27-year-old has put pen to paper on a three-year deal at Deepdale, after a year in London with the Cottagers.

The Newcastle-born left-sided midfielder started his career in his native north east, before a move to Derby County and then onto Rotherham United, where he made over 150 appearances for the Millers in four years, scoring 22 goals and being named in the PFA League One team of the year in their 2013/14 promotion season.

He is North End’s seventh summer signing, following the arrivals of Chris Maxwell, Simon Makienok, Anders Lindegaard, Eoin Doyle, Callum Robinson and Tommy Spurr.

Speaking about the move he said: “I'm delighted, it's been a bit of a whirlwind since last week and I'm delighted with the deal and I'm looking forward to it.

“It's a massive club; a big club with lots of history and I'm just looking forward to getting started.”

Manager Simon Grayson was delighted to add another option to his numbers, adding: “He will give us something different. He has got a great left foot, he can see the pass, he's got a great delivery and he can play either side or centrally.

“He's a busy, bright player who is delighted to come here and we are delighted to have him with us.”
