Another Great Game Says Grayson

12 January 2017

Manager Simon Grayson is anticipating another exciting game at Deepdale on Saturday with the visit of the Championship leaders.

Chris Hughton brings his Brighton and Hove Albion side to PR1 this weekend and the PNE boss feels the game against the Seagulls is a good chance to continue the momentum from the Arsenal game last weekend.

After a fantastic team performance against the Premier League side, the gaffer is grateful of another 'great game' at Deepdale to try and build on the positives of the FA Cup tie.

"I think sometimes you get the euphoria of a big team and a big game at Deepdale and it's followed up by playing a lesser team as such but it's different in the Championship.

"There are a lot of big teams in the division so no matter who is coming, there is going to be quite a decent game but ultimately we've got the league leaders coming so I think it's a great game for us to be involved in to keep that adrenaline and anticipation going again.

"I remember when I was at Leeds and we beat United, the following week we went to somewhere like Exeter or Wycombe and I think we got beat and that is the sort of come down of the euphoria of the big game previously.

"This time though, there is no bigger game or team to come to Deepdale than the league leaders."

Despite it being another tough test, the manager is expecting a very different game from this weekend's visitors.

Grayson continued: "We will be playing against a different type of team. Arsenal are very attack minded and probably think that they are going to score more goals than the opposition so you get a bit more space to play.

"Brighton are very disciplined, hard working, they make it difficult for the opposition and they will stop you from playing and they have conceded very few goals this year.

"So it's a different type of game but ultimately we have got to try and replicate the quality on the ball, the chances that we created but try and go a step further and try to take those chances when they come along."
