Clarke Looking For Repeat Performance

13 February 2017

North End captain Tom Clarke is aiming for a repeat of Saturday's performance against Birmingham City.

The Lilywhites put in a fantastic performance to pick up three points at the weekend, and the PNE skipper is aiming to take the confidence from that game into Tuesday night.

"These are big games against teams that are in and around us, Brentford were just a few points behind us so it's nice to have that little bit of a gap and again with Birmingham it's going to be another tough game.

"I watched their game against Sheffield Wednesday, they played really well and created a lot of chances.

"We have worked hard on them in training and we go again in front of our own fans and hopefully we can put a performance on like we did against Brentford.

"We are at home, we know what we're about and we need to build on that confidence and get a win to really push us up."

One player Clarke will be up against on Tuesday night is Lukas Jutkiewicz, who has been in fine form since making the permanent switch from Burnley last month.

North End's no.5 is well aware of the Birmingham frontman's threats, having played alongside him during his time at Huddersfield Town.

Speaking of his threat, Clarke continued: "I played with Jutkiewicz at Huddersfield for a while and I know what he's about.

"He's strong, he's physical, he's good in the air and can bring players into play so we need to be wary of that and then they have Sinclair who is quick and mobile.

"We need to be on it, we know what they are about, we've done our homework on them but it's about what we do.

"We are at home, we need to put on a performance again for our fans."
