Young defender Ben Davies has joined Rob Edwards’ Tranmere Rovers on a month’s long youth loan.
Edwards, himself a former PNE left back, moved to recruit the North End No.20 after a serious injury to yet another ex-PNE man, Matt Hill, who unfortunately ruptured his Achilles a few days ago.
Davies joins the Super Whites until 22nd October, with a chance for regular game time, after David Buchanan moved ahead of him in the pecking order in recent games.
He will be available to make his debut for the Wirrall outfit in Saturday’s clash with Exeter at Prenton Park, where he could come up against another former team-mate in Graham Cummins, who scored for the Grecians in midweek.
