Calum Woods: “We Should Have Come Away With The Win”

24 January 2015

Preston North End’s Calum Woods was disappointed not to guarantee a place in the fifth round of the FA Cup following Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Deepdale.

Paul Gallagher’s stunning free kick from all of 30 yards out gave the Lilywhites a deserved lead at the break before the Blades came roaring back into the contest in the second half.

But Woods was annoyed at the manner of the equalising goal, a soft free kick which he puts his hands up to, admitting he should have done better.

Speaking exclusively to PNE Player, Woods said: “It was a good game; I thought we played well but we should have come away with the win.

“One slack little thing and we got punished for it. So it is disappointing.

“I switched off, a quick free kick, and they have got it in and scored so it is just disappointing.

“I thought overall we played well and deserved to win the game.”
