Today’s Championship preview sees PNE take a look at fellow promoted side Bristol City who make the long trip to Deepdale on a Tuesday night.
The 15th September will see Preston North End and Bristol City reunite after the Lilywhites recorded four points over the League One Champions last season.
Preston’s win against the Robins last November was one of only five defeats suffered by Steve Cotterill’s men last time out as City took League One by storm.
Finishing on 99 points, City had the best defensive record in the division and were second to only MK Dons in the goal scoring stakes in the 2014/15 season.
But that’s all in the past now, and Cotterill is well aware the difficulties of the Championship having experienced the division before with a host of clubs including Burnley and Notts Forest.

After a quiet first-half, City took the lead in the 49th minute from the spot through Paul Hartley after a foul on Danny Haynes from Youl Mawene.
And The Robins were well on their way to victory when David Clarkson made it two just before the hour mark.
But an audacious volley from Jon Parkin halved their deficit with eight minutes to go and with just seconds left on the clock, the Lilywhites were awarded a penalty after Louis Carey was adjudged to have handled in the box.
Up-stepped skipper Callum Davidson who made no mistake to ensure Preston snatched a point from the jaws of defeat.
The Stadium
Ashton Gate, the home of the red side of Bristol is currently undergoing major re-development, as every North End fan who went their last season will know.
The work is expected to be finished ready for the 2016/17 season, but during that time capacity has been reduced to 13,400 seats.
But once completed, the ground will house just under 30,000 spectators, which includes a safe standing area in one part of the ground.

Whilst John Vaughan, Mike Stowell, Marcus Stewart and Steve Robinson have featured for both, arguably the stand-out man to don both jerseys is David Moyes.
Eight years before he became a Preston player, Moyes had two years at Ashton Gate and made over 80 appearances between 1985 and 1987, winning the Football League Trophy or the Associate Members Cup as it was called back then.
Other recognisable figures to play for Preston and Bristol City include Andy Smith and Hugh Mcllmoyle who both made well over 100 appearances combined for both clubs
