Football fans are holding a charity walkathon on the 2nd of August to raise money and awareness for the Katy Holmes trust.
Jake Oates, Tom Cafferkey, and Jamie England aim to make the 67 mile journey on foot from the Britannia Stadium, Stoke all the way to Deepdale in just 24 hours.
To make the task even harder, the team are setting off with just a bottle of water each, relying on the good nature of others to provide them with food and drink.
The Katy Holmes trust is a charity dedicated to raising awareness of paediatric brain tumours, as well as raising money to fund the research in memory of lifelong Preston North End fan Katy, who died at the age of ten due to brain cancer.
On supporting the charity, one of the trio, PNE season ticket holder Jake Oates said “The three of us have grown up together and we know that the Katy Holmes trust is a charity that is hugely supported in Preston, and also the North West so we decided we’d like to do our bit to help out.”
The team are also planning to organise a fundraiser next month for the cause, with Preston North End showing their support by donating two tickets to help raise money for the event.
