Chris Humphrey Delighted With Garner’s Extension

28 August 2014

Saturday’s issue of The One And Only has a Jamaican feel to it!

We speak to winger Chris Humphrey about his start to the season, as well as to Ricardo Fuller, Claude Davis and the man who signed them both, Craig Brown!

And the Lilywhites’ No.7 admitted that one of the biggest boosts he has felt in the last few weeks has been the news that Joe Garner has signed a new deal.

“I’ve been practising this coming in and working off Joe [Garner] because it’s a lonely old place for him up there,” Humphrey tells the matchday programme in an extended interview.

“He can be on his own at times, especially if the wing backs are bombing on and you’ve got to track them.

“He is up there on his own, he knows he is isolated so whenever you can get around him them it’s brilliant, but there’s no one better than him in this league to do what he does.

“It has lifted me as a footballer, it’s lifted me that he has signed again because I can either score goals from him or set him up and I’m quite happy for him to score the goals as long as we’re winning games.

“We’ve all got one thing we want and if he scores them all, that’s fine as long as we get promoted.”

Craig Brown speaks about signing Humphrey’s two Jamaican predecessors and also about coaching the current international in his time at Motherwell, whilst Fuller is hoping for a PNE reunion in the Championship.

We also have interviews with Nigel Clough, Mark Lawrenson, Dave Sadler, Jordan Hugill, Mel Tottoh, Andy Little, Scott Laird and John Welsh, plus a dozen pages on our South Yorkshire opponents and over 200 photos!

All this packed into 84-pages of the League One programme of the year, on sale from the Club shop from Friday for just £3 or on the day of the game around the ground.
