Preston North End winger Chris Humphrey’s terrific August has been rewarded with a Player of the Month nomination.
Humphrey’s unquestionable highlight was his performance against Scunthorpe United at Glanford Park, setting up two goals in the first half before adding his name to the scoresheet in the second in a 4-0 win.
And the Jamaican international backed that display up with a stunning long range strike against Doncaster Rovers to give the all yellow Lilywhites the lead at the Keepmoat Stadium in a 1-1 draw.
With an abundance of confidence, Humphrey also excelled at Deepdale, causing the Blades all sorts of problems en route to his man of the match award on Saturday.
The former Motherwell man has some tough competition to fend off if he is to land the August accolade, with James Hanson of Bradford City, Conor Hourihane of Barnsley and Reda Johnson of Coventry City also nominated.
The judging panel comprises of Sky Sports’ Football League expert Don Goodman; Football League Head of Communications John Nagle; League Managers’ Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet Football Trading Manager Paul Lowery, with the winner to be announced on Friday 5th September.
Good luck Chris!
