Maxwell To Join Up With Wales Squad

25 May 2016

Preston North End goalkeeper Chris Maxwell will join up with the Wales squad for their pre-Euro 2016 training camp.

The 25-year-old was North End's first signing of the summer earlier in the month, and will now team up with his national side as they step up their preparations for the European Championships in June.

Maxwell will travel to Faro to meet up with the rest of the 30-man squad for their training camp in Portugal.

The 30-man squad will be cut down to just 23 on 31st May ahead of the tournament, so the players will be looking to make a final impression on manager Chris Coleman during their time away.

Maxwell is yet to make an appearance for the senior side but has represented his country at various youth levels, making 16 appearances for the U21s.

Wales will play Sweden in a friendly in their last pre-tournament warm up match on Saturday 5th June, before they kick-off their Euro 2016 campaign on 11th June against Slovakia.

Everyone at Preston North End would like to congratulate Chris on his call up to the squad.
