Clarke Ready To Wait For Chance

19 November 2015

Captain Tom Clarke is ready to work hard for his place in the team after he closes in on a return from injury.

The North End skipper suffered a shoulder injury in the 0-0 draw with Cardiff City at Deepdale, and knows he may have to wait for his chance after the side picked up five consecutive clean sheets in his absence.

Speaking of the injury, Clarke said: "It's been frustrating, I knew against Cardiff I had done something, but I'm just thankful that it didn't need surgery and I could crack on with rehab straight away. That was the main thing, that I wasn't out long term.

"I don't want to be missing games and the ones that are coming up are massive games for us."

And the 28-year-old has been impressed by the team's efforts while he watched on from the sidelines, and is looking to extend the recent form into the upcoming games.

"The lads have been unbelievable and done really well to get some great results and I'm hoping we can carry that on into these next games.

"It's on me now to train hard and to make sure my shoulder is fully recovered and train and wait for my time."
