Club To Back Fan Led Applause

21 May 2015

Preston North End is giving its backing to a supporters led initiative in the tenth minute of the Play-Off Final against Swindon Town.

Members of the Lilywhites’ fan base, who impeccably support the annual ‘Gentry Day’, have contacted the Club to make them aware that a round of applause will take place inside the National Stadium on Sunday to remember loved ones who are sadly no longer with us or are too ill to attend the big game.

The idea first came about as a way of Preston fans showing their support for lifelong PNE fan Linda Moon who is sadly terminally ill with cancer.

Since then, the idea has expanded, with supporters looking to pay their respects and to think about their own family members and friends who sadly are no longer with us or who cannot attend the match due to ill health.

So don your bowler hats, remember those nearest and dearest to you and raise the roof at Wembley in the tenth minute!
