Doyle Looking Forward To Johnson Link-Up

1 September 2015

Eoin Doyle will be reunited with former Chesterfield team-mate Daniel Johnson when he gets to pull on a lilywhite shirt for the first time.

The two had a successful link-up at the ProAct Stadium last season, including the game at Deepdale where Johnson set up two of the Irishman’s three goals in a six-goal thriller.

And when the new PNE No.13 spoke to PNE Player this was something he was thoroughly excited about.

“‘Jonno’ was magic when we were at Chesterfield together,” he told the Club’s online TV channel. “He set up so many for me.

“He can see a pass and I am looking forward to joining up with him again.”

The move from the Cardiff City Stadium was concluded in the last hour before the window slammed shut, taking extra time due to the need for international clearance from Wales, but he admitted that his own decision to come to Lancashire was not a hard one.

“Once I heard the interest was there I was very keen to get this deal over the line,” he continued. “The last time I was here was a great night for me and I am looking forward to getting back out on Deepdale.

“I am very grateful of a second opportunity to come here and hopefully I can contribute to the team, get in the side and then get in amongst the goals.

“It is nice to know the manager has confidence in me. It will be tough getting in the team, but I am really looking forward to. The competition brings the level up and makes you put that extra yard in.”
