Foster Agrees Permanent Contract

4 January 2013

Luke Foster, who had been playing for the Club under non-contract terms, has signed a permanent contract with the Lilywhites until the end of the season.

The former Rotherham and Stevenage man has impressed since registering with the Club in early December, playing in four games for Graham Westley’s side over the festive period, having made his debut in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy triumph at Bury.

The 27-year-old centre half, who keeps the No.27 shirt, will remain with the Club until the summer, and compete alongside the other defensive options the manager has at his disposal.

Speaking after completing the deal ‘Fozzy’ told PNE.Com: “I’ve really enjoyed myself, because it’s a great Club and I am thrilled to bits with the opportunity I’ve been given. Hopefully I’ve grabbed it with both hands and now I can kick on.

“It is good that the contract has been sorted out , but now it is the business end of the season and it is time to kick on.

“Everyone knows it is a massive club, with massive expectations, so it is not easy to come into that environment when you have been out for so long, but it has been a good month. I got drafted in, played the Bury game and I knew it was my big chance.

“It was all or nothing, so I had to make sure the fans could see that I was good enough to play for this Club and prove to the manager and the owner that I deserved a future here and hopefully I have started to do that. But the work has only just begun.”
