Manager Simon Grayson feels the pressure is on the hosts tomorrow night as PNE travel to Derby County.
The gaffer takes North End to one of the top sides in the division, and is hoping he can cause an upset in the league against a strong Derby side.
Speaking to PNE PlayerHD ahead of the game, the manager said: "They were one of the favourites for the division when the season started, but when you look at the situation it's a great opportunity for us to go and try and cause an upset.
"I think it's a free game for us if you look at it in a certain way, there's no easy games in the Championship whether you're favourites for the division or one of the favourites to go down.
"We've done really well this year, we've been to Burnley and got a good result, then Brighton, QPR, a lot of those teams are in the top six or seven of the division.
"So I'm sure Paul Clement will be aware that we gave them a decent game at Deepdale in the early part of the season.
"There's more pressure on them, more expectancy, because they have to win a lot more games from now until the end of the season for them to get to where they want to be."
The game comes the day after the January transfer window shuts, but the manager insists there will be no more deals ahead of the deadline.
Speaking of deadline day, the gaffer continued: "There's a whole soap opera about it, the window has been open for 31 days, so it's one of those days where there's a lot of hysteria about it, and it's really the Premier League clubs that have to go and do something.
"It is a big drama for the TV audience now, in terms of what we are going to, we won't be doing anything.
"We've done five transfers already over the last few weeks that we feel have enhanced the squad. There was options to see what else we could do but we've looked at the situation as a Club, we don't want to bring anyone in on loan as we've already got five loan players, and the ones we were looking at on a more permanent basis over the last few weeks were not the value for money that we expect.
"So we won't be doing any deals, we feel we have a group of players here that have done exceptionally well so far this season, that deserve to be given a chance and get some game time."
