Gaffer Gives Full Credit To His Players

27 September 2014

Simon Grayson heaped the plaudits on his players following Saturday’s fantastic 2-0 victory over Coventry City at the Ricoh Arena.

North End dominated the hosts from start to finish and were rewarded in the second half when Tom Clarke converted Paul Gallagher’s set play before Joe Garner picked himself up off the floor to smash home from the penalty spot for a deserved three points.

And the gaffer was pleased that the players carried out his game-plan to a tee.

Speaking to PNE Player following the match, Grayson said: “I think the way we conducted ourselves in the game, the work ethic, how we executed the game-plan that we came here with, is full credit to the players.

“With the ball, we passed it patiently but we passed it with a purpose, we defended really well in our units and took our opportunities.

“From start to finish, I think we controlled the game, you know the opposition because they are at home are going to have certain phases in it [the game] but when they did throw things forward we were very comfortable in dealing with it.”
