Gaffer On 'Another Big Game At Deepdale'

3 March 2016

Manager Simon Grayson is looking forward to this weekend's game against promotion chasing Brighton and Hove Albion.

you can purchase your tickets for Saturday's match here. The seagulls make the trip to PR1 on Saturday and the PNE boss is hoping his side can replicate past performances against the top sides in the division, and

The Lilywhites have a superb record against the top sides in the Championship, and after three consecutive home wins, the manager is looking to extend the run against Chris Hughton's side.

Speaking to PNE PlayerHD ahead of the weekend, Grayson said: "We know it's another big game, another big game at Deepdale, we seem to have done well in the big games so far this season so hopefully that can be the same again.

"Brighton have been very consistent right the way through the season, they are up near the top two or three again, they had a little blip but they have had some great results over the last few weeks.

"They responded really well after being beaten at Cardiff with an emphatic win against Bristol City and then again against Leeds the other night.

"We know we are in for a tough game, they've got some very good players, they're really organised under Chris.

"When you look at the teams that are at the top, all of them are no spills teams, they work hard for the club. The likes of Middlesbrough, Burnley, Hull, Brighton, they are the most consistent teams in the division and you know what you are going to get from them every week.

"You get organised, disciplined teams, they are hard to break down and they've got players who can win you matches, and I think that's how you have to be in this league.

"It shows if you are like that, if you hang in games and weather the storm, and you grind teams down then you're going to get results.

"Other teams might go and play free-flowing football all the time but that's probably not the way to go. They can be a little bit inconsistent when they play that way.

"But these teams that we've mentioned are up there for a reason, but consistency is the key to them all. When you've got good individuals in your team like Brighton have then you have to be on your game because if you switch off for a second, they will punish you.

"We know we've got another tough game this weekend but we are really looking forward to this game."

North End have been solid at home this season, and the manager knows that Saturday's visitors will be well aware of the threats posed by his team.

"Chris [Hughton] is a really respectful manager in that he will certainly be making his players aware of what we have done.

"He will know what we've done previously, the teams we've beaten and how well we've been doing, the confidence that we've got and I'm sure he will be reiterating that to his players about what we are capable of doing.

"Especially at Deepdale, we've had a fantastic few months with the results that we've had and the teams that we've beaten. They will have a decent following I'm sure of it, and it's got the ingredients to be a great game."
