Gaffer Says Focus Must Be On The League

5 February 2015

Manager Simon Grayson admits there is an added buzz around the Club given the upcoming FA Cup tie but the focus for now must be on the next two league games.

A fantastic peformance against Sheffield United set up a fifth round tie at Deepdale against Manchester United but the gaffer insists that the two games before that must take priority with six points up for grabs, starting with Coventry City on Saturday.

"The result the other night has obviously given us all a big boost and a big lift and there's obviously a bit of an extra buzz around the training ground this morning, but ultimately the focus and the attention is on the league games that really matter, the Coventry game and the Chesterfield game.

"We need to get back to winning ways and try and get six points in the next two league games.

"As much as everybody can contemplate and look forward to the Manchester United game, which everybody should be, they've got to have their total focus on Saturday's game and replicate the same performance that they did on Tuesday to go and get the three points.

Speaking of Saturday's opponents, the gaffer said: "We had a good game against them down at the Ricoh earlier in the year and we want to try and do the double over them. We know that they've got some good players.

"They've probably underacheived a little bit, they've been up and down but they've got some threats that can hurt you so we know what to expect but we want to build on Tuesday night. We did say that hopefully the result Tuesday will galvanise one or two people and put that extra little spring in their step and put their confidence levels back to really kick on from now until the end of the season."
