Harrison On 'Great Occasion' For PNE Youngsters

30 November 2015

Academy manager Nick Harrison is looking forward to Tuesday's FA Youth Cup tie against Carlisle United.

The fixture will be played at Carlisle's Brunton Park, and Harrison feels it's a great experience for his players to play in a professional stadium, in a big competition.

"It's a great occasion, it's a big game and it's probably the biggest game in their careers so far really.

"We are hoping that they can put a show on and we're hoping that they show what they can do.

"There will be a lot of people watching, and hopefully as individuals they can put good performances in, but as a team put the performance in that they should be able to and win the game.

"As a group, we've prepared for it over the last few days and we are just looking forward to the game now.

"We want to go as far as we can and that's going to be down to the players. As staff, we're looking for good performances, like we do in every game.

"But hopefully we can get a good result and progress into the next round.

"With the team on Saturday we did have an eye on this game, Carlisle didn't play so all of their players were rested and we wanted to make sure that our lads were rested as well and give them the best preparation we could."
