Hundred Paged The One And Only!

15 September 2014

This Tuesday sees our first ever 100-page edition of The One And Only on sale at Deepdale, still only £3!

Included in what is our home grown edition we have interviews with Academy manager Nick Harrison, head of youth recruitment Andy Livingstone, youth team graduates Ben Davies, Will Hayhurst, Josh Brownhill, Kevin Kilbane and Stuart Cameron.

Speaking about the importance of youth team progress at PNE Kilbane says in an exclusive chat: “I think the priority for a team like PNE is to develop players internally because its gives the supporters some sort of affinity with the players on the pitch. Ideally you’d want 11 local players playing for your side, but unfortunately that isn’t going to happen.

“But if you can have that affinity by having two or three home grown players within your squad, the supporters will start to sense a real togetherness and real bond within the players on the pitch so I think it’s especially important yes.

“I’m regularly in touch with Alan Kelly junior and he keeps me in the loop with players that are coming through and developing.

“I think its extra special that we have youngsters coming through and plying their trade here at Preston. In the past we’ve gone away from that affinity but Simon Grayson and the coaching staff around him senses what a club Preston is and he’s got that real common touch with the supporters and I feel as though a couple of managers before him didn’t buy into that. I think that’s one of the main reasons why he’s doing a great job at the club.”

Packed into the century of pages we also have Jamie Jones taking on Jack King in our winner stays on quiz, we have George Ross talking about his progress from youth team player to PNE legend and we have 14 pages of contact about our Derbyshire visitors.

The £3 edition will be on sale from Tuesday afternoon from the Club shop or in person on the night from our sellers inside and outside the ground for just £3.
