League One beware, Joe Garner is back, and he is better than ever according to Bailey Wright.
The pair returned to the starting XI for the Lilywhites as they beat Chesterfield 2-0 at the Proact Stadium on Tuesday night – the hosts having Sam Hird sent off for a professional foul after only three minutes – none other than Garner bearing in on goal at the time.
And PNE’s Socceroo was delighted to have the striker back in the fold, stating it is like having a new signing, Tuesday marking his first start since injury against Bristol City back in October.
“We knew it would be tough coming to a place like this. Chesterfield play some good football and obviously early on they had a man sent off,” said Wright in an exclusive interview with PNE Player following the full-time whistle.
“We played some good football, we mixed it up well and it was almost like having a new signing having Joe Garner back out there with two goals.
“It was pleasing to have him back out there and obviously for myself to be back out on the pitch to get the three points.”
