Joe Garner Looking Forward To Life In The Championship

29 May 2015

Preston North End fan and top goalscorer Joe Garner took time out from celebrating promotion to the Championship to reflect on a special moment for himself and the Club.

Speaking to PNE Player at the end of season awards, where the striker was awarded Goal of the Season for his strike against Port Vale in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, the 27-year-old says he is already looking forward to next season in the second tier of English football.

"It was a special day, the fans have obviously gone home happy and we had a good night and we look forward to next year now.

"It was a special moment for myself, and I think for the fans obviously, with the record and all that everyone speaks about.

"It's obviously a very special moment, in ten, fifteen, twenty years, I will reminisce over the game and think about it and it's obviously a very special moment for myself and my family and just very happy, mainly for the fans and everyone around the place.

"We've got some good games next year! We're just happy to come away with the victory and as I say we look forward to next year now."
