Jordan Hugill Joins Tranmere Rovers On Loan

26 February 2015

Preston North End striker Jordan Hugill has joined Sky Bet League Two side Tranmere Rovers on loan.

The 22 year old appeared for the Lilywhites six times in the early part of the season, netting twice, against home town Club Middlesbrough and Shrewsbury Town respectively before a knee injury curtailed his game time.

Hugill is now back to full fitness and has joined the Wirral based side – managed by his former boss at Port Vale Micky Adams, until the 29th March to get some valuable game time under his belt.

Speaking of the loan move, North End manager Simon Grayson said: “We had a few calls over the last week or so about Jordan, and, to be fair, I wasn’t going to let him out at all because I thought he could be in and around us and play a part, but that part may only be ten or 15 minutes if at all because of the lads we have got that are already in front of him.

“I thought for his own benefit it would be good for him to go get 28 days of football and five or six games at Tranmere and I just felt it was a perfect fit geographically and he knows Micky well and Micky knows him.”

Everyone at Preston North End would like to wish Jordan well on his loan spell at Tranmere Rovers.
