Kevin Davies 'Really Proud' Of Teammates

18 May 2015

North End forward Kevin Davies is proud of the way his teammates bounced back from the disappointment at Colchester to earn themselves a place in the Play-Off final.

The 38-year-old admitted he was unsure how the squad would react to the hurt of missing out on automatic promotion but was impressed with the way the team responded and there is now a real belief that PNE can go all the way this year.

"I did worry, I must say, on the way home how we were going to pick ourselves up, but we got back home and the manager addressed it straight away.

"He said go home and do your sulking but then come back into work and believe me it's a good way to get promotion. I think that was the right thing to do, we all went home and sulked for 24 hours, it wasn't nice and we weren't nice people to be around.

"But I have to say I'm really proud of the way the players responded because it's not so easy to bounce back from that kind of feeling after working so hard for ten months and to have it snatched away from you at the last minute.

"So I'm really proud of the way the players responded and hopefully we can take that into Sunday.

"I just sense there is a real belief around the place, a lot of confidence and there's certainly no sign of any nerves or fear or anything like that. I think everyone just can't wait to get down there and get the job done."
