Legacy Rainbow House Becomes New Charity Partner

13 October 2015

Preston North End is delighted to announce that Legacy Rainbow House will be its official charity partner for the 2015/16 season.

The partnership was launched at the Mawdesley headquarters of the charity, as it launched its new ‘Hub’ facility.

Legacy Rainbow House is a national charity working with children with acquired brain injury, multiple disabilities and complex health needs. They are based at a 12 acre site in Mawdesley, but offer their services to children from across the UK.

The new purpose built ‘Rainbow House Hub’ – which had its ribbon cut by North End boss Simon Grayson and captain Tom Clarke, has been developed to meet the needs of children, young people and adults with disabilities. The development includes four additional classrooms and teaching facilities to equip young people with life skills, reducing the likelihood of them needing lifelong care.

The entire first team squad and management were on hand for the launch of the new partnership, which will also see the Club’s finance director, Kevin Abbott, join the charity’s board of trustees.

At the event the players also helped launch the charity’s ‘Wheels Raffle’ where the prizes of a Citroen C1 car and other fabulous prizes including a Milan moped; Gents, Ladies and Child’s bicycle and a Silver Cross Pram have all been bought by the players themselves!

Speaking about the new partnership Kevin Abbott said: “We are delighted to announce our partnership with The Legacy Rainbow House, which we hope will provide them extra support and promotion, along with new and unique fundraising opportunities.”

Carole Cochrane, the recently appointed chief executive officer of Rainbow House, added: “This is an exciting time to be taking the helm of an organisation that was set up with such forward-thinking and vision.

“The support from Preston North End and all the local businesses who helped us build Rainbow House Hub, together with those who will be helping us over the coming months, is amazing, and ensures that we can continue to develop the services we offer that are so important to the children and their families.”

Tickets for the ‘Wheels Raffle’ are just £2 each and will be available from local businesses, through Trust Inns pubs or by calling 01704 823276. The draw will take place on 21st December 2015 at Deepdale.
