Little To Complain About For Andy

17 December 2014

Andy Little was delighted to get a full match under his belt as the Lilywhites progressed to the JPT northern area final with a win at Meadow Lane.

It was the forward's first start since September after a spell on the sidelines through injury and Little was excited to be back on the pitch and play a part in the victory which leaves North End just two games away from a cup final tie at Wembley.

"It's brilliant, personally just a big relief to get back on the pitch and get ninety-odd minutes is a great feeling. Just to have that feeling again after a game, tired legs and kicks and bruises, that's what it's all about, it feels great just to be back playing.

"Towards the end I was starting to feel it a bit in my legs, having not played in a few months but I think it's a confidence booster to know that I can get through that, so we'll see how I recover now in the next few days.

"As a team we're delighted, it wasn't the prettiest of games but it was never going to be that on a night like this, but we are just delighted as a team to get through and I think the boys showed a lot of character and we fully deserved it.

"We said before the game that we're one step closer to Wembley and this will now take us when step closer and that's all the lads will be thinking of is Wembley, and whenever it comes around, if it comes around, that's what we are focusing on now, or will be focusing on when the game comes. But it won't be easy Walsall, they showed that they were a good team when we were down there but I think we're confident to know that we have got enough in the squad to get through.
