Manager Meets With Squad

30 April 2013

Manager Simon Grayson met with his whole squad on Tuesday ahead of their summer break and handed out their summer fitness programmes.

The manager also discussed contracts and plans for the new season, but with just two players out of contract the changes are few and far between.

Luke Foster’s contract runs out at the end of June and he will not be offered new terms, however, the Club will be in contact with the agent of German goalkeeper Thorsten Stuckmann with a view to extending his stay at Deepdale.

Paul Connolly and Declan Rudd return to Leeds and Norwich respectively after their loan moves, with the manager already making it clear he would like to retain the services of the England U21 keeper next season, if possible.

The gaffer also told Chris Beardsley, Chris Robertson and Andy Procter that whilst they remain under contract for a further 12 months, that the Club would be willing to listen to offers for them if there was interest from elsewhere.

Meanwhile, negotiations with the three young players who had their extensions activated recently are ongoing, with a view to looking at options for their long term futures.

The rest of the squad were given intensive programmes to make sure they return for pre-season at the end of June in good shape.

Full reaction from the manager will be on PNE.Com and PNE Player later today.
