Manager On A 'Pleasing Performance'

2 February 2016

North End boss Simon Grayson was delighted with his side's performance as they earned a point away to Derby County.

After picking up another point away from home against one of the top sides in the Championship, the manager praised his team and the way they went about the game.

Speaking to PNE PlayerHD following the 0-0 draw, Grayson said: "When you look at the team that Derby County have got, where they are in the division and what they expected to do come the end of the season it shows what we are capable of doing.

"We knew that they would come out and have a right go from the start, we played a certain way to try and combat that to make sure we were nice and solid and we knew as the game went on we would get opportunities.

"Unfortunately we didn't take any of those opportunities, but overall it was a really pleasing performance.

"The players carried out every instruction that I've given them over the last five or six days that we've worked on and they deserved the point at the very least tonight."
