Manager Simon Grayson wants his players to show more belief in the final third of the pitch when opportunities come around.
The gaffer knows his players have the ability, and he is hoping his players start to believe in themselves even more as North End look to build on a positive result against Derby County.
Huddersfield Town are the visitors to Deepdale on Saturday, and the PNE boss praised his team's spirit and wants them to express themselves this weekend as they look to get back to winning ways.
Speaking to PNE PlayerHD ahead of facing his former Club, the former Terriers boss said: "You have got to have a group of players who are desperate to do well, and certain football clubs in the Championship have got some fantastic individuals but at times maybe don't have that togetherness to really get results when they really need one.
"We are a team, we do everything as a team, we have individuals who can do something out of nothing but they do the other side of it too, they fill in and run for each other and that's what we use, that spirit of the team."
After taking points from each side in the top six of the Championship, Grayson admits the confidence within the squad is building.
"The players should take confidence game by game, improving all the time, and we have to drum it in to them at times that they need to have even more belief, especially at the top end of the pitch.
"They need to go and express themselves, be braver on the ball, take people on and get your shots off.
"That's what we keep reiterating to the players, but as much as you tell them that they've got to take that on board themselves and have that positive frame of mind."
"Sometimes in the Championship you don't get too many opportunities but when you do you've got to be really positive in what you're going to do.
"We still think there's a lot more to come from certain individuals at the top end of the pitch where it really matters.
"I don't think the players feel inferior to the opposition, it's just having that belief that you can go and do something out of nothing at times.
"It's about having that belief that on a matchday you can go out and replicate what you've done in training, and they need to take a little bit more responsibility at times, because if you don't shoot or make that forward pass you're not going to score too many goals."
