Match Preview: Bury v Preston North End

31 July 2015

Simon Grayson takes his PNE side to Gigg Lane for their final pre-season game ahead of the Club’s return to the Championship.

North End will come up against David Flitcroft’s newly promoted Bury team this Saturday, who ended last season with promotion to SkyBet League One.

The PNE squad have been back training at Springfields this week, after returning from their weekend away in Scotland on Tuesday evening, and the gaffer is expected to have a fully fit squad at his disposal.

With Joe Garner, Jermaine Beckford and Paul Gallagher rested on Tuesday night, it is likely they will feature this weekend, with the new season just over a week away.

Both sides will be looking to end their pre-season campaigns on a positive note and so it should make for an entertaining encounter between two sides still high on last season’s success.

There will be some familiar faces on show for the travelling PNE fans, with a number of North End connections at Gigg Lane.

Chris Sedgwick is currently on the books at Bury as a player/coach, after making over 200 appearances for the Lilywhites during his time at Deepdale between 2004 and 2010.

Other familiar faces include Ryan Kidd, who is manager of the U18s, Danny Mayor, Danny Pugh and Leon Clarke, who have all pulled on the North End shirt in the past.

The match kicks-off at 3pm and the PNE fans will be located in the East Stand at Gigg Lane.

Payment on the day will be on the turnstiles with tickets priced at £10 for adults and £5 for concessions. Concessions include U23s, over 65s, disabled supporters, students and the unemployed. Disabled carers are free of charge.

Coach travel is available for £10 per person, and coaches will depart Deepdale and Leyland at 1pm.

If you can’t make it to the game, we will have live commentary on PNE PlayerHD with Jonathan Breeze from 2.45pm, with uninterrupted coverage of all the action.

There will also be post-match reaction and highlights on PNE PlayerHD, and a full match report on PNE.Com.
