Mixed Emotions For Simon Grayson

13 December 2014

Following North End's 1-1 draw with promotion rivals MK Dons, Simon Grayson took to PNE Player to describe his satisfaction with a point, but his disappointment they didn’t grab all three.

The away side took a surprising lead five minutes before half-time with Carl Baker bundling home from close range, to make it 0-1.

In response, the Lilywhites created numerous chances to draw level, but it wasn’t until the 67th minute before the Dons were finally pegged back - Scott Wiseman on the volley cannoning the ball into the roof of the net.

“It was a great game and both teams had opportunities to win it,” said the North End boss following the draw that see’s Preston joint third in the table.

“I thought over the course of the game we’ll be disappointed that we’ve not won it because we've worked their goalkeeper a little bit more, but we still knew MK Dons were going to be a threat, and we’re pleased we’ve got something out of the game.

“We knew we had to be at it today, by pressing them up the pitch and not allowing them to get into their passing game because they’re as good as anyone in this division.

“Both Kevin [Davies] and Jermaine [Beckford] will be disappointed they didn’t get on the score sheet today – they’re perhaps lacking a bit of confidence in terms of goals but they’ll get better as a partnership and I’m sure once one of the goals go in, they’ll go on a roll.”
