'Heartbeat' to move into former National Football Museum home

Over the last few months the management of Preston North End Football Club have been in negotiations with the Trustees of the National Football Museum (NFM) to reacquire some of the space previously occupied by the NFM.

We are delighted that agreement has been reached for Preston North End to own once again approximately 10,000 square feet of space within the stadium, including the entrance of the former museum, the museum shop and all the internal space behind the Bill Shankly Kop.

Following this agreement, we have been in discussions with various parties with a view to re-letting the former museum space.

We are delighted to announce that heads of terms have now been agreed with ‘Heartbeat’ to take over this space from later this year, following the final completion of the legal documentation and a period of refurbishment.

It is particularly fitting that ‘Heartbeat’ are to become the new tenants given the presence of both the Minerva Health Centre and Lifestyle Fitness within the stadium.

Heartbeat is a charity dedicated to cardiac rehabilitation.

Heartbeat’s cardiac rehabilitation is a professionally supervised programme designed to help people recover from heart attacks, heart surgery and percutaneous coronary intervention procedures such as stenting and angioplasty.

Heartbeat provides long term cardiac rehabilitation programmes which provide education and support to enable heart patients to increase physical fitness, reduce cardiac symptoms, improve health and reduce the risk of future heart problems including heart attack.

This announcement has no impact on ongoing discussions designed to find a suitable home at Deepdale for both the Sir Tom Finney and PNE football collections.
