Preston North End youngster Nick Anderton has joined Conference side Aldershot Town on a 28-day youth loan.
The 19-year-old defender, who signed a professional deal with the Lilywhites in the summer of last year, takes the next step up in his development, after spells at Barrow and Gateshead last season.
Anderton played a number of pre-season friendlies with the first team this summer but is yet to make a competitive first team appearance for North End after suffering a long term injury last season.
The Academy graduate has now returned to full fitness and is looking to get some competitive games under his belt as he looks to impress PNE manager Simon Grayson with a successful loan spell.
