PNE Make Premier League Capture

22 November 2012

Manager Graham Westley has moved into the loan market just hours before it closes to bring in a Premier League defender.

Chelsea right back Todd Kane has signed an emergency loan deal until January 5th (inclusive) and goes straight into the reckoning for Saturday’s trip to Leyton Orient.

Kane, 19, played and scored at Deepdale in the summer for the England U19 side that played their European Elite Qualifying Tournament at the home of the Lilywhites.

A regular at right back throughout the youth ranks at Stamford Bridge, he made his U18 debut in the 2009/10 season.

In May 2011 he scored a spectacular equaliser in the 2010/11 Premier Reserve League Final, which Chelsea ended up winning on penalty kicks.

The Huntingdon-born defender was an ever present as the Blues won the 2011/12 FA Youth Cup. And to cap a successful season, he travelled as part of the Champions League Final squad and was involved in the celebrations after beating Bayern Munich.

This season he was named the U21 development team captain for the 2012/13 season, months after scoring his first goal for his country against Slovenia at Deepdale in late May.

He has been given the No.14 shirt for PNE.
