PNE Player: Simon Grayson Admits Players Had To Be Brave

20 September 2014

Preston North End boss Simon Grayson praised the courageousness of his players this afternoon after Preston got back to winning ways with a 2-0 victory against Crawley Town.

A precise finish from Bailey Wright half-way through the second-half saw North End take the lead, with Joe Garner doubling North End’s advantage converting his spot-kick late on.

The win was exactly what the doctor ordered with the victory on the back end of two disappointing results against Chesterfield and Walsall.

Referring to naming an unchanged side from Tuesday’s 3-3 draw to Chesterfield, Grayson said “A lot of people would have been surprised with what I did, but I believe the start of the other night was as well as we’ve played in a long time.

“I’m a positive person and I trust everyone in there, even those who didn’t start because I genuinely do believe we have a good competitive group here.

“We were patient and we had to be, and that’s how I want us to play - I don’t want us to be lumping the ball forward – we had the three in midfield which we wanted to utilise to pass the ball around and I thought we managed that today.
