Jonathan Breeze talks to goalkeeper Steve Simonsen following the JPT triumph over Carlisle United.
Goalkeeper Steve Simonsen put behind him his penalty demons to help the Lilywhites to a spot kick victory over Carlisle United at Brunton Park on Tuesday night in the JPT.
The experienced shot stopper, playing his second game in a week for the Club made a couple of important saves during the 90 minutes, plus playing a key part in the lottery shoot-out.
Pleased to be on the winning side once again, Simonsen told PNE Player commentator Jonathan Breeze he is pleased to see North End in round two.
“It doesn’t matter how you get through it is always nice to get through, we weren’t entirely happy with the performance over the 90 minutes but we found a way to get through albeit on penalties and we are through to the next round.”
