Community Day To Be Held At Deepdale

11 April 2016

Preston North End are holding a community day at Deepdale on Sunday 1st May, with all proceeds going to Prostate Cancer UK.

There will be activities on offer for the whole family throughout the day, with the main attraction being a charity football match, one that you can take part in!

The 2016 Player of the Year awards will also be presented on the day, so make sure you head down to Deepdale to help celebrate what has been a fantastic first season back in the Championship.

The full squad will be in attendance and will be holding a signing session at 1pm, so come along early and meet the players.

Entry into Deepdale will be by donation to Prostate Cancer UK, so bring the family down for what is sure to be a great day out.

After the success of last year's 'Deepdale Legends' charity match, raising a fantastic amount of money for Prostate Cancer UK, manager Simon Grayson has chosen to host the match once again.

A team made up of celebrities and former players from PNE and across football will be led by manager Simon Grayson as they take on a team of fans led by current members of the PNE first team.

Just some of the stars that fans can bid to play against include ex-pros Graham Alexander, Paul McKenna, David Lucas, Gary McAllister, Emile Heskey, David Dunn, Mark Lawrenson and Peter Beagrie; singer Paul Heaton, former Ashes-winning England cricket captain Michael Vaughan,, and TVs Fenners from Soccer AM.

There are 14 places up for grabs with 11 guaranteed a starting place and three substitutes. Please note that the substitute position does not entitle you to a certain amount of playing time as there will be a ‘rolling subs’ system in place on the day.

Kick-off will be 2pm and all the money raised from the auction will go to Prostate Cancer UK and the fantastic work that they do.

This is a unique opportunity to play on the pitch at Deepdale, walk out of the tunnel and take part in a pre-match warm up prior to kick-off. There will also be an opportunity to meet everyone involved after the game.

The match will be streamed live on PNE PlayerHD with full commentary.

Each position in the team will be up for auction on our official eBay page, with bidding starting at just £100.

Bidding will begin on Thursday 14th April, ending just over a week later on Sunday 24th April, so make sure you don't miss out!

Payment will need to be made by the winner of each position within 24 hours of the bidding ending; by Monday 25th April 2016 at 8pm.

Winners will then be contacted the following day to confirm the arrangements for the weekend.

Once you bid, you are entering into a contract that states you must pay the amount you offered should you win the auction, irrespective of whether you decide to take part.

You are bidding at your own risk and enter knowing you are fit and healthy enough to participate. Preston North End will not be held responsible should you suffer any injury or such like at the event. There will be a doctor and a physio at the game should they be needed.

To bid for your place in the team, go to our eBay page from 8pm on Thursday by following this link: www.ebay.co.uk/usr/prestonnorthendfootballclub
