Preston North End Sign Jermaine Beckford On Two Year Deal

8 June 2015

Preston North End are delighted to announce the signing of striker Jermaine Beckford on a two year contract as of the 1st July 2015.

The forward will officially become a North End player after his contract expires with Bolton Wanderers on 30th June 2015.

Having initially joined the Lilywhites in November 2014 for the remainder of the 2014/15 season, the 31-year-old was a vital part of Simon Grayson's promotion winning side.

Beckford scored 18 goals in his first spell with the Club, with six goals of those coming in the successful Play-Off campaign for PNE, including a superb hat-trick at Wembley to secure promotion to the Championship.

It means that the in-form striker teams up with manager Simon Grayson once again, and Jermaine admits it was the management at the Club that made his decision to join an easy one.

"The management are a big reason, we have just a good understanding and relationship and it was a no brainer really.

"I had a great time last season and everybody here, the staff, players, have just been amazing with me and it's somewhere that feels like home."

And Beckford has already set his targets for next season, with an aim of lifting the Club as high as he can in the Championship.

"My aim is to get as high up the league as possible, hopefully push for promotion but first and foremost it's about making sure that we do things right, like we did last year.

"Last season was a great season for us and for me I just want to make sure that I give everything that I can give and do the best that I can do."
