Preston North End Sign Paul Gallagher On Two Year Deal

16 June 2015

Preston North End are delighted to announce that Paul Gallagher has signed a two year contract with the Club.

Having enjoyed two loan spells with the Lilywhites over the last two seasons, Gallagher has been an integral part of the Club’s success and now joins North End on a permanent deal as of 1st July 2015.

Gallagher ended the season as the League’s top assist maker, including creating two of the goals in the Play-Off Final at Wembley and admitted it was an easy decision to rejoin North End.

“It was something I wanted to get done quite quickly and it’s great that it’s been done. Being here last year and witnessing what happened and with the team spirit and the staff that we have here it was a no brainer.

“I said to the people that look after me that I wanted to speak to Preston first and see what they wanted to do and what they wanted to offer and there was interest but I wanted to come here and now it’s done and I’m looking forward to the season in the Championship."

Manager Simon Grayson has not been shy about the fact he wanted to bring the 30-year-old back to PNE on a permanent basis and was delighted to get the deal done.

"Paul is another big signing for us, it's no secret that I wanted to get Jermaine, Sam and Gally signed up. We've got two and hopefully we can try and sign Sam as well.

“Gally has felt like our player for the last 18 months even though he's been on loan. He feels settled, he feels comfortable and we saw this year his all round game and what he can do.

“His delivery from set pieces, his passing range, and also playing more centrally and showing his capabilities in there.

“We said that we wanted to keep the nucleus of the team together and at any football club players move on and new ones come in but we have kept the nucleus here.

“We’ve been working hard to secure these signatures over the last week or so and again we are working on new signings over the next few days and weeks as well.

“So it's all positive news that these players want to be a part of a football club that can hopefully keep progressing year in year out.”
