Proud Day For Alan Browne

4 May 2016

Alan Browne was full of pride after collecting the Young Player of the Year award from both the Club and the Preston Supporters' group.

The Irishman has impressed in his first full season with North End, and the awards just show the progress the 21-year-old has made during his time at Deepdale.

After signing in January 2014, the Republic of Ireland U21s midfielder earned himself a new three year deal earlier this year and was delighted to accept the duo of awards at Sunday's community day at Deepdale.

"I'm very proud to be a part of this club, and to obviously get two great awards, it's been a fantastic day for the charity and the supporters.

"My main target this season was to get in the team, and try to keep my place, and I think I've managed to do that. I think I've been a lot more consistent this year and I think that was probably my downfall last year and I've managed to push on and improve as a player.

"I think that's down to the staff and especially the lads around me, communicating and giving me advice and I've taken it all on board and managed to have a really good season."

"I don't think I could have asked for a better season and to top it off with these awards especially, it's a fantastic acheivement for me and it's a season I won't forget."

And Alan is looking to end a successful season on a high with victory over Leeds United at Deepdale on Saturday.

"We want to finish as high as we possibly can, we can still climb one or two places so we will be looking to do that on Saturday and it would be a confidence boost going into next season and hopefully we can do even better and push higher up the table."
