Sam Johnstone Knows Focus Must Be On The Job At Hand

15 May 2015

Preston-born goalkeeper Sam Johnstone is remaining level headed when it comes to North End's visit to Wembley on Sunday 24th May.

Despite the understandable excitement around the occasion, the on loan Manchester Untied 'keeper is aware that once the whistle blows, all of the attention must be on getting the win, and he and his teammates know they can't afford to be overawed by their surroundings.

"Everyone is excited, i have been to watch my parent Club at Wembley before and now I have got the opportunity to go there and hopefully play and hopefully we play well and win.

"I've put a few ticket requests in for this one! To be honest it's mostly family, who come and watch at Deepdale and stuff and it's nice for them to come to Wembley and experience that." Added Johnstone, whose family are from Preston.

"Not many people can say they're going to play at Wembley, I'm excited now but I will be more excited come the end of next week, Friday, Saturday and especially Sunday.

"But you can't let the occasion take over you really, it's another game that we're going to set out to go and win. It will be difficult because obviously it's a big stadium, it's a nice stadium, there will be a lot of people there and like I said, we can't let it take over the job that we are going there to do.
