Selection Headache For The Gaffer Ahead Of Hull Clash

27 August 2015

Manager Simon Grayson admits he has some tough decisions to make when selecting his team to face Hull City this weekend.

After making five changes for Tuesday night's cup win over Premier League side Watford, the gaffer knows it will be hard to leave out certain players after a terrific performance from his side.

The decision is made even harder by the potential return of various players from injury, and with Jordan Hugill returning from suspension, but it is a situation the manager relishes.

"I was really satisfied with how the lads did against Watford, we made a few changes to the side, and I've said before that when we do change it for cup games it doesn't really weaken the team.

"What pleased me more than anything was that the lads that did come into the team showed what they are capable of doing and have given me a tough decision when it comes to maybe leaving them out at the weekend.

"But it's also given me a reminder so I know that they are ready to be called upon if and when they may be required, and that's what it's all about.

"It's been tough the last few games with injuries and the suspension, and we have been short of numbers. It still highlights the fact we still need a few positions filling in to make sure we have that strength in depth as it's a long hard season.

"We will see where that takes us over the next few days but it's nice to have more options available hopefully for the weekend, and whatever team we put out at the weekend will hopefully put on a good performance to try and get another result for ourselves."
