Preston North End boss Simon Grayson was left frustrated following his side’s 1-1 draw with Fleetwood Town at Highbury.
But with Ball’s goal being the Cod Army’s first shot on target of the afternoon, Grayson and his players found that a bitter pill to swallow as he stated post match when asked about that stat: “That’s why it is so frustrating, that’s why we are disappointed in the dressing room.
“We are disappointed but we are not despondent. It is a game we will look back on where we are comfortable, even up to the goal, there was no real atmosphere in the ground because we had done a professional job.
“We have nullified their threats, we’ve played really well, but unfortunately we have not done the basics right in terms of when to go short, when to go long, when to get tight to people, and that contributed to us not winning the game.”
