Simon Grayson Feels For Travelling North End Faithful

20 October 2014

Ahead of a gruelling schedule that sees the Lilywhites make three consective Tuesday night trips down south, manager Simon Grayson sympathises with the dedicated fans who will be making the trip.

The gaffer appreciates the efforts made my the fans and told PNE Player that he hopes he and his team will be sending the supporters home from Gillingham smiling despite the dismal weather predicted.

"It is [a trek], not just for the team, but for the supporters aswell, we appreciate that it's a long way and I don't expect there to be too many supporters there but there will certainly be a few and they will be making their noise that they do as with a game that's even closer to home.

"It does seem strange that we are playing Gillingham on a Tuesday night and vice versa, they come up to Deepdale nexy year some time on a Tuesday nightso maybe the fixtures could be looked at a little bit better when you're not having to make such long distance journeys for everybody concerned.

"It's going to really test their character as well but hopefully we can put on a similar sort of performance that we did last year, get the victory and we can send them home in good spirits.

"We just want to maintain this run that we are on at the moment and going to Priestfield’s is never an easy place but we will go there in good shape and hopefully get three points."
