Preston North End manager Simon Grayson says he has highlighted the targets he wants to bring into the football club – and progress is being made.
But it was transfer targets that Grayson was most eagerly quizzed on.
“There are still bits to do in terms of the recruitment of players but we are very close to a few things we are working on,” said the boss.
“You have got to be patient. I think the whole market has been pretty quiet over the last few weeks; not a lot of clubs have done a bit.
“We have done our major stuff in terms of Paul Gallagher, Jermaine Beckford and Joe Garner’s extension and all the other lads that have re-signed as well, so it has been profitable in that respect. But obviously we have a few other positions to fill and we are moving closer day by day.
“I said a few weeks ago that I could have filled a squad of 30, 40 players by now but they won’t be the level of personality, quality and ability that we want at this football club.
“We have remained patient, we’ve highlighted the targets that we want, and we have moved quickly and are moving closer to them targets being finalised hopefully.”
